The history of the Hamburg chicken has been debated on where they originated from.  They are on the small side as far as large fowl breeds.  The Hamburg is known to be very alert and can be flighty. Hens will lay on average of 200 eggs per year. Their rose comb allows them to do better in colder climates. They are part of the Continental Class in the American Poultry Association.
